A new Marquette Law School Poll national survey finds that 45% of adults approve of the job the U.S. Supreme Court is doing and 55% disapprove. Each of five decisions released in June 2023 and included in the survey found a plurality of support, with at least two-thirds awareness in cases involving race in college admissions, student-loan forgiveness, and religious beliefs and free speech.
Republican Confidence in Big Business Remains Scarce

After nearly a half century when Republicans routinely viewed big business in a more positive than negative light, their perspective shifted to being more skeptical of it in 2021 and remains that way in 2023. A record-low 18% of Republicans now say they have a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in big business, whereas nearly twice as many -- 35% -- report having “very little” or no confidence in it.
Consumer Confidence Stands at Highest Level since July 2021
Conference Board
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index® rose again in July to 117.0 (1985=100), up from 110.1 in June. “Consumer confidence rose in July 2023 to its highest level since July 2021, reflecting pops in both current conditions and expectations,” said Dana Peterson, Chief Economist at The Conference Board.
