Fox News Poll: Supreme Court approval rating drops to record low

Two weeks after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of presidential immunity, the latest Fox News national survey finds voters disapprove not only of that decision, but also think the court is too conservative, and that partisanship plays a role in decisions. About 8 in 10 favor establishing a mandatory retirement age for the justices (81% favor) as well as limiting them to an 18-year term (78%).

Americans fear their country is spiraling out of control following an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, with worries growing that the Nov. 5 election could spark more political violence, a Reuters/Ipsos poll that closed on Tuesday found. The two-day poll found Trump opening a marginal lead among registered voters - 43% to 41% - over President Biden, an advantage that was within the poll's 3 percentage point margin of error, suggesting the attempt on Trump's life had not sparked a major shift in voter sentiment.

By contrast, 29% think it is caused mostly by natural changes in the environment. 58% of Americans understand that most scientists think global warming is happening.
