COVID-19 Aid Package Both Popular and Controversial

Sixty-three percent of Americans, according to a Gallup poll conducted March 15-21, approve of the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill that Congress passed and President Joe Biden signed into law two weeks ago. While receiving nearly unanimous support from Democrats (97%), the legislation enjoys majority support among independents (58%) but scant backing from Republicans (18%).
Approval of President Biden has softened since last week as Republicans' concern over immigration rises

The latest Ipsos Core Political survey finds that support for President Joe Biden has softened since last week, with 53% of Americans now approving of his job performance compared to 59% last week. However, this is in line with Biden’s approval rating from two weeks ago (54%). The economy and public health remain the most pressing issues facing the nation, followed by immigration and the healthcare system.
